WELCHES WEEKLY UPDATE!

OCTOBER 16, 2026

Sometimes you forget that you're amazing, so this is your reminder.

WELCHES MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL CLUB

Each week, Welches Middle School staff offer clubs during and after school. We offer clubs based on student input. All students are welcome at all clubs.

We are excited to announce the return of Creative Club as an after-school club for Welches Middle School students! It will occur on Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:00 pm beginning October 20, 2026. Students can bring their own art and craft projects and supplies, use school-provided supplies, and/or complete group activities.

For students to attend after school clubs, parent/guardian permission is required. Parents/guardians are required to provide transportation from school to home. Ms. Teresa, our counselor, sent out a digital permission form through Parent Square for this club. Following is a link to the Parent Square post: https://www.parentsquare.com/feeds/92483065

OREGON BATTLE OF THE BOOKS (OBOB)

The Welches PTCO went to the 3rd-5th grade classrooms this week to talk about their OBOB Club (Oregon Battle of the Books) and hand out sign up forms.

Any student in grades 3rd, 4th or 5th is welcome to join our OBOB club. The club meets on Tuesdays starting October 20th during lunch/recess time. The club will meet through February, with practice increasing to Tuesdays and Thursdays in January. Students are expected to read at least 30 minutes per day outside of the club. This is a super fun club for any book loving student.

Please see the attached OBOB sign-up form for all the details.

Forms must be turned in to teachers or the office by October 15th for your student to participate. We are also looking for parent volunteers to help "coach" for the club. Please reach out to Ally at info@welchesptco.org with any questions.

Happy Reading!
